I’m not supposed to be buying books for the next two months because I broke my book buying restrictions during a local book fair. However I couldn’t resist ducking into my local newsagency today after reading this in the newspaper:
After the book fair I broke my rules twice and therefore put myself on a ban until October. However I have been craving the second Outlander novel: Dragonfly In Amber. After reading the article I knew exactly which book I’d purchase.
On the way over, my thoughts warred within me. I misread the article and though they were only going to donate 10c per book. I debated whether my 10c would be worth it to add another book to my shelves, but ultimately I found myself walking into the store. Low and behold, Dragonfly In Amber was on the shelf and only one left.
You can guess…I bought it!
I regret nothing. When I purchased it, the staff member explained the promotion and I learnt it was actually ten PER cent, not ten CENTS. Silly me!
I am glad I felt warring emotions though. It shows me I’m learning to control my urges and change my mindset.
Although I was desperate to read this book weeks ago the urge has worn off and I’m not sure when I’ll read it.
I want to read Tomorrow When The War Began #7 by John Marsden next because of my crazy dream the other night. And because it’s a quick novel for me to read when I feel like I’m not reading lots.
It’s funny, in the middle of a book I plan what I’m going to read, but when I finish a book I’m sometimes at a loss. I only just picked up Jane Eyre as my next read. Otherwise I have no idea what I would have read.
Do you like the envelope in my picture? My pen pal from Finland replied to me and she makes envelopes! How awesome?! 😀
Happy reading and happy weekend everyone!! 🙂 <3
